Glamorous Grande Hall at Liberty Tower Wedding

The Grande Hall at Liberty Tower Wedding by Carrs Photography

If we were to describe Lauren and Jack’s wedding in one word, we would have to go with glamorous. With its beautiful art deco style, The Grande Hall at Liberty Tower has such an elegant but vintage feel. Combined with Lauren and Jack’s classic style we felt like we had stepped back into the golden age of Hollywood. We can’t get enough of these two!

Classic and Chic Green Acres Art Center Cincinnati Wedding

Green Acres Art Center Cincinnati Wedding by Carrs and Co Photography Cincinnati Wedding Photographer

Rich color, delicate floral details, unique details – Jordan and John’s Green Acres Art Center wedding had it all. The couple gushed over how amazing the Wolf & Bird team was at making their day beautiful and classically effortless. And the Green Acres grounds are just stunning. It’s hard to believe you are minutes from downtown Cincinnati. It feels like an estate tucked away in the European countryside. The day had a sublimely fairytale-like atmosphere.

Jordan and John chose a rich, jewel-toned color palette and matched it with fun, floral details. And they allowed Wolf and Bird to do what they do best – create a beautiful design and attend to every detail. From their colorful water goblets to their unique cake design, everything came together to create a memorable event.

How to Include Your Dog in Your Photos | The Dogs of C&Co

How to Include Your Dog in Your Photos - Carrs Photography

At C&Co we know that dogs are part of the family and we love when clients include them in their engagement sessions, wedding photos, or family portraits. Photoshoots are best when they represent who you are and even where you are at this time of your life, and your pet is a huge part of that. Plus, dogs add so much personality to your photos and by including them you will ensure you have some special shots to keep with you forever. So, why not include them in your next session?

If you are ready to snap some photos with your dog (or dogs!) here are a couple of tips:

  1. Pick a dog-friendly location for your shoot. A park, dog-friendly brewery, and in-home shoots are all great ideas. You know your dog best, so make sure it is a place they will feel comfortable.
  2. Bring an extra set of hands. Especially if you want to snap a few photos without your pup, having someone there to hold their leash while that happens is a must.
  3. Give them a good groom or bath before the shoot. That way they look their best for their camera debut! Got a cute outfit or fun accessory for them to wear? Even better!
  4. Get the energy out beforehand. This is especially helpful for puppies or high-energy dogs. A tired dog will be easier to work with.
  5. Be flexible. You can’t always predict how dogs will behave in new situations. Go with the flow, trust your photographer, and you will be sure to get some shots you love.
  6. Don’t stress about them moving around, it’s ok. The photographer will keep snapping.

Now bring on all the dogs!!

Vibrant Traditional Indian Wedding | Dayton Arcade Wedding

Dayton Arcade

Kunal and Courtney’s traditional Indian wedding at the Dayton Arcade was a dream to photograph. The Dayton Arcade renovation is absolutely amazing. This historic building has been brought back to life and we can’t wait for more opportunities to shoot in this space! And the stunning vintage white tile and early 20th Century architecture were the perfect backdrop to the vibrant colors of this multicultural, Indian wedding.

As most of you know, the Carrs love to travel! Travel offers us the opportunity to experience new cultures and ideas. So getting a taste of that in our own backyard was so much fun. The chance to explore other traditions, foods, lifestyles, and experience the family centric nature of how another culture gets married was refreshing and awe inspiring.

Kunal and Courtney’s wedding was perfectly planned. They paid attention to every detail and were passionate about telling a great story throughout. They married their two cultures seamlessly (no easy task) into a stunning wedding.

We had the pleasure of photographing the Mehndi, the Henna ceremony, the Puja ceremony and the main event. The whole weekend felt like it was one big extended celebration of family, both new and old!

Our Favorite Stylish Looks for Grooms

Our Favorite Stylish Looks for Grooms - Carrs Photography

Don’t forget the groom! There is so much emphasis on the bride during the wedding planning, it feels like the groom’s look can be forgotten. We get it, there are not quite as many options for the groom, but trust us you can still have a killer getup!

The most important thing for a groom is fit. Your tux or suit should fit you like a glove. Don’t worry, you don’t have to have a custom suit made to have a good fit (but that is a great option). A good tailor can do wonders for off-the-rack pieces. Plus, places like ASOS offer really cool options for suits that are more tailored. A little trick, you can order lots of sizes and return for free. If you are looking to rent, Black Tux offers some options. Though we highly encourage grooms to buy! Investing in a good suit means you get to keep it and wear it over and over. A quality piece can last you a lifetime and will bring back all the sweet memories of your wedding day.

Our biggest tips when putting together your look? Pay attention to the details. Buy some unique shoes, a special pocket square, or look for a pop of color under the collar or cuffs. We love a great vintage tie pin or colored cufflinks. A hat can also be a fun piece to add for portraits. Use one of a kind, local shops to make your outfit dapper and unique. You are looking for pieces that elevate your style and make your look one to remember.

Above all, remember to have some fun as you put together your wedding day look. If you are local to Dayton, we highly recommend BRIM to complete your look. You can’t go wrong here and the staff are sure to help you find a look that will take your style to the next level!

9 Stunning Wedding Dresses from Louise Christine Bridal Boutique

Stunning Wedding Dresses from Louise Christine Bridal Boutique & Atelier - Carrs Photography

Choosing the perfect wedding dress sets the tone for your entire day. And trust me, shopping at the right boutique can make or break the wedding dress shopping experience! My advice is always try on a couple of dresses that are a bit outside your comfort zone. Most of the time dresses our brides love are ones that they wouldn’t think they would choose! A local must for wedding dress shopping is Louise Christine Bridal Boutique & Atelier

Opened in 2015 by mother-daughter duo Lisa and Abi, Lousie Christine has the selection and service you would find in any larger market bridal boutique. We can’t recommend them highly enough to all our brides. Their dress collection is amazing and their accessories are fast becoming their signature. We had the pleasure of photographing Abi’s wedding a few years ago and their family is so wonderful. I cannot say enough good things.

If you are planning on checking out dresses at Louise Christine, start by making an appointment. You must have one to visit the boutique and it ensures you have the best experience possible. Ideally you will want to start shopping 10-12 months in advance of your wedding date, but it is never too early to start the process! Let the owners give you suggestions on dresses based on body type. You honestly never know what dress you will fall in love with. It might take you by surprise!

Here are several of our past brides in stunning dresses from Louise Christine Bridal Boutique & Atelier.

Our Favorite Wedding Veil Styles

Wedding Veil Styles - Dayton and Cincinnati Wedding Photographer

A veil is a statement all on it’s own. They can be short or long, cover your face or stay pinned back, be simple or incredibly intricate, full of drama or more romantic – the options are truly endless. I highly recommend a veil for every look, but especially if you’re a bride who might be more nervous in front of the camera.  A veil can give you something to play with during photos.

On the fence about a veil? Our biggest advice is BE UNIQUE! Figure out what  fits your style and get out there and find it! Here is some inspo that might make you go for it!

Washington Adventure Elopement | Elopement Photographer

Washington Adventure Elopement - Carrs Photography - Elopement Photographer

Mountains, adventure, a beautiful lake, family, and the best dogs – it was the perfect recipe for Jon and Cait’s Big Day! Jon and Cait’s intimate Washington elopement was so much fun. There is something special about gathering with a small group of friends and family to celebrate your wedding day. Plus, it gives couples more flexibility when selecting a location, and you know we are all about traveling to a unique spot for the “I do’s”!

Jon and Cait love the outdoors and we wanted to capture that in their pictures. They spend a lot of time backpacking, camping, and exploring in their geared up 4Runner. We had so much fun shooting with their dogs and we even did a little off-roading for some epic portraits.

When we travel, Michael and I often shoot together! While I’m generally the one managing all the day to day operations of Carrs & Co, when we are away I grab a camera and flip the switch to the second shooter. I like to think I’m pretty good and we always have fun!

Like so many couples in the last year, Jon and Cait had to flex, change their plans multiple times, and get creative in order to celebrate their love. And they did a fabulous job! The location, decor, dress and food were all spectacular.

Actually, let’s pause and talk about the food. We have eaten a lot of wedding food and it is rarely amazing. How can it be? Serving individual plates for 200+ people is really hard to pull off. But in a small intimate setting like this, you can feast on some amazing dishes, and boy did we feast! Check out Swiftwater Cellars, if you’re in the area or need catering.

Congratulations to Jon + Cait, we cannot wait to meet up on the road soon!
