Art is a superpower for change.
Dayton is full of people and businesses that areĀ invested in making our community great. There is a culture of giving back, paying forward, and helping your neighbor when you can. We are so proud of this community and are always looking for ways we can invest our time. A few years ago we connected with an amazing non-profit that uses art to promote life change for youth who are overcoming adversity and we knew we had found a great fit.Ā
Based out of Clark State in Springfield, OhioĀ Project Jericho and RISE believes that art changes lives. They offer a variety of camps, modules, and workshops in both visual and performing arts. For more than 2o years, they have been teaching high priority or vulnerable youth how art can be used as an outlet to build self-esteem and express emotions.Ā
From dance to watercolor, youth learn a new skill from professionals across Ohio. For the past few years, Michael hasĀ been given the opportunity to teach the photography workshop. Watching these kids learn to look through the lens and see the world in a whole new way is astounding. This life of art has had such a huge impact on our lives, and to watch it inspire the next generation of creators is truly special. We are honored to be a small part of the work Project Jericho and RISEĀ are doing to transform lives and communities.Ā
